Assignment
Lab 3 covers various applications of force. This includes using Newton’s second law, friction, and tension. A pdf version of the lab is available, as well as a docx version of the lab. ( *** the lab file attached below) Note that the table at the end is an image; it can’t be typed into in word.
Assignment Details
- This lab uses a PhET simulation. You can find the force and motion simulation here. The simulation is also embedded below.
- This simulation has been updated to be able to be run in a browser by clicking the play button. If you are unable to run the simulation, you can also download it and run it from your own computer. You will need Java in order to do so. If you have any questions, reach out to Professor Crockett or myself. We are here to guide you.

Grading
Labs are graded out of twenty points. When grading, Professor Crockett and I are looking for correct answers, thoughtful discussion, clean graphs, and units when appropriate. There is a small credit reward for attendance.
Submission
Work can be done electronically on the original document, or by hand on printouts/extra paper. When finished, upload the file as a pdf to this assignment by clicking Submit Assignment at the top.
