I’m working on a algorithms & data structures question and need an explanation to help me understand better.
Our company’s security administrator monitors, among other things, the parameters of physical servers of cloud service Charlie. The number of physical servers behind Charlie is continuously changing. It has been decided (by the company’s CEO) that the addition of a new server will increase the administrator’s hourly salary by twenty per cent. Because the adding of a new server to Charlie is always a voluminous additional task and the company’s CEO wished also to fit the administrator’s salary with the actual inflation coefficient, it was also decided, that removing the server from Charlie (and from monitoring) will not reduce the administrator’s hourly salary by twenty per cent, but only by 17 per cent.
Task:
During the actual (calendar) year, total number of 10 new servers were added to the cloud and also total number of 10 servers were removed from the cloud. How much did the administrator’s salary change compared to the beginning of the year?
