Reflecting upon appreciative inquiry (AI) and appreciative living (AL) helps individuals develop self-awareness, find the best in others, and maintain a positive organizational culture. Such reflections can inspire others to change, shift automatic thinking, and eliminate negative bias.

In this assignment, you will create a 5- to 8-minute narrated presentation on how Kelm’s five emergent principles of AI help individuals reflect on their leadership practice. You will also reflect on how the principles affect your decisions as leaders.

Review Kelm’s five emergent principles.

Research the effect of Kelm’s emergent principles on leaders through the lens of AI and AL as they relate to reflective leadership practice.

Select a digital tool to create your narrated 5- to 8-minute presentation with supporting slides or other visuals. See potential presentation tools in the ACE Digital Tools Center. Be certain that your full name appears on your title page.

Create slides or other visuals to present the information you developed. Your presentation should represent one you would provide at a virtual conference. The presentation should address how each of Kelm’s five emergent principles helps guide your ability to reflect on your leadership practices. In the presentation, provide specific examples of how you use the themes. Use APA format for all elements of your presentation.

A best practice is to compose a script or talking points to use while recording the narration.
