Purpose: For this paper, students will conduct some independent research and evaluate the quality of sources. Students will then select 3-4 texts and summarize, synthesize, and evaluate the information.

Topic: For your paper, you will have the opportunity to independently research a current project related to any of the following issues: water conservation, sustainable agricultural practices, preservation of biodiversity (habitats), wildlife conservation, and renewable energy.
Task: Your task is to evaluate the effectiveness of the project based on one or more of the following criteria: a) involvement of the local community, b) use of innovative strategies and/or technology; c) development of strategic partnerships; and d) long-term planning. Your paper must include relevant background information about the issue, a description of the project, your evaluation of the project and a conclusion.
Audience: You will be writing this report for a professional audience.
Required Sources: You must cite at least 3 sources in your paper.One must be from the website created by the organization or individual running the project. The other two articles can be secondary sources which provide background information and/or information about the project. We will discuss and practice looking for appropriate articles in class.
