A nutritionally balanced diet is important to provide the energy and raw materials to maintain all of the diverse biological and chemical processes that we call life. The goal of this experiment is to understand the composition of the foods that we eat and how their composition influences their taste, texture, and flavor.
Goals of the Experiment:
1. Collect comprehensive data over an extended period of time.
2. Explore the relationship between classes of food molecules and their relative calorie content
3. Compare experimental results with published standards
4. Recognize the receptors influential in how taste is perceived
