SJSU Banana Republic Advertising Analysis

CHOOSE ONE IMAGE FROM THE INTERNET.  It can be an advertising image or photo from Facebook or what ever you choose. But you will need to be able to culturally analyze these images (by race, gender or class or a combination of those) so keep that in mind when making your choice.

PART 2: WRITE A CULTURAL ANALYSIS OF THESE IMAGES
Much in the same way we saw images deconstructed in “KILLING US SOFTLY”, (or by your Professor in this course), deconstruct—in detail— the image or message you chose. Why did you choose it? What signs or meanings can be interpreted from the image (blatant and subtle?) How is the image positive (has prosocial value?) and how is it negative (stereotypes?) Who is the target audience for the image? Who benefits from its existence? Who is disadvantaged by it? If you were to create an image for the same product, how could you do it and make it positive?
