One of the best ways to learn about a reading, person or concept in depth is to teach others. Therefore, you will make a 5-minute presentation about two of the topics on the list. Sign-up is on a first come, first choice basis.

You will present in groups of 1-3, and your presentation may take a variety of forms, such as a Power Point or Prezi, an information poster, a Kahoot quiz, a game, a short video, a skit, or a sound recording, among other formats. I encourage you to be both creative and informative.

To make an effective presentation, be sure to answer the following questions:

1. What is your name? (Introduce yourself!)
2. What are you talking about today? (Introduce your topic!) Summarize or define your topic.
3. What is the history of your topic?
4. How is your topic important to the study of sociology?
5. How did this topic make you think from a sociological perspective?
6. Can you give an example of this concept in society today?
7. Ask three questions to the class about your topic. One question from each presentation will appear on Midterm and on the Final.
