UCF The Student Green Energy Fund Environmental Report Clean Energy Discussion

The Student Green Energy Fund (SGEF) was established in 2011. The purpose of this program was to move toward a reduction and eventual elimination of greenhouse gas emissions on the USF Tampa campus. The SGEF is funded through the Student Green Energy Fee, which is a portion of the student fees that are paid each semester. The fee is voted on by the student body so is not permanent, but overall, has received support by USF students since its inception. Numerous sustainability projects on the Tampa campus have since been funded by the SGEF and status reports are provided regularly.

Summary: As a USF student, you play an important role in funding many sustainability projects on our campus. As such, you have been asked to review the projects and write a summary essay that will be presented to the USF leadership. Your 500-word (minimum) report must contain the following information:

1. A summary of the projects completed to date and the environmental benefits they provide.

2. A review of the top 3 projects that you believe will provide the greatest benefit to both the student body and the environment.

3. Your recommendations for future projects (2) to transition the Tampa campus to a carbon neutral campus.
